Kazan is currently relishing in the excitement of the festivals of football set to come to the Tatarstan capital in 2017 and 2018 even more than usual, with the city is beautifully dressed in the FIFA Confederations Cup™ official look ahead of the Official Draw. And now, Kazan has got a new symbol to help channel that anticipation.
The Bud Alcohol Free Countdown clock have been unveiled in the city centre, on the Kremlevskaya Embankment, near the its greatest sight – the Kremin. From now on, Kazan’s citizens and guests promenading along the picturesque Volga embankment can learn the time until the city’s first 2018 FIFA World Cup™ match.
“The whole planet is counting the days to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and now the Republic of Tatarstan can do that in a very special manner. This clock in Kazan is a symbol of a city that is already revelling in the pride of hosting the greatest tournament on Earth,” said FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.
Prior to the event, Samoura together with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and LOC Chairman, Vice Prime-Minister of Russia Vitaly Mutko also visited the Kazan Arena, which will host four FIFA Confederations Cup™ matches as well as six FIFA World Cup™ encounters.
