Substitute Gaetano Oristanio's swerving free-kick goal in the 76th minute pushed Italy past Ecuador 1-0 in Round of 16 action at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™.
France beat Australia 4-0 to take their place in the quarter-finals. Nathaneal Mbuku scored a hat-trick to set up a tantalising tie against Spain.
A second half rocket from Diego secured Brazil a 3-2 victory and South American bragging rights, in front of a raucous home crowd. Kaio Jorge also netted a brace, as the hosts move ominously into the last eight.

Spain prevailed 2-1 over Senegal in their Round of 16 tie. Senegal made a match of it late, but the India 2017 runners-up move into the quarter-finals at Brazil 2019.
Eugenio Pizzuto and Santiago Munoz scored their first goals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™ to lift Mexico to a deserved 2-0 victory over Japan in the Round of 16 at Estadio Bezerrao.
Forward Sontje Hansen netted a hat-trick to propel the Netherlands past Nigeria 3-1 and into the quarter-finals at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™.

Korea Republic relied on their defence and Choi Minseo's first-half tally to best Angola 1-0 in the opening Round of 16 game at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019™. He struck the match's lone goal in the 33rd minute, cleaning up a rebound after Angola goalkeeper Geovani saved Jeong Sangbin's initial attempt.

Mexico made seven changes, but barely missed a beat in attack. They scored inside two minutes, while five second-half goals guaranteed progression to the last-16 and a match up with Japan.
Junior Quinonez's headed goal in the 52nd minute earned Paraguay a 2-1 triumph over Italy in Brasilia. Falling behind only three minutes into their Group F finale, La Albirrojita climbed back into the match with goals in either half, then defended furiously to cement a first-place finish in the group.
Spain's first-half goals from Jordi Escobar and Moriba Ilaix saw them defeat Cameroon 2-0 in their final match of Group E. Unbeaten in the group stage, La Rojita have earned a match-up with Senegal in the Round of 16.

Argentina endured a late charge and downed Tajikistan 3-1 in their Group E finale on Sunday. The result sees the South Americans finish level on points with Spain at the top of the group but bumped to second on goal difference.
The Netherlands surged into knockout phase contention by soundly defeating USA 4-0. Ajax youth player Sontje Hansen struck his team's first two goals and assisted the third to lead the Oranje charge. The Dutch now must wait one more day to find out if they'll progress into the Round of 16.
Both sides took the chance to give key players a breather in this game, rotating their squads. After a goalless 83 minutes, one of Japan's substitutes Jun Nishikawa scored the winner, leap-frogging his country to the top of Group D.

Korea Republic got off to a lightning start, scoring inside the opening 60 seconds, and never looked back. The Taeguk Warriors doubled their lead, and despite Chile pulling one back before half-time, the Asian side held firm. They finished as Group C runners-up, earning a Round of 16 clash against Angola.
France beat Haiti 2-0 on Saturday and joined Brazil as the second team to earn maximum points from their group stage matches. Georginio Rutter's second-half brace helped Les Bleuets put away a determined Haiti side, who bowed out of the competition.
New Zealand gave themselves a ray of hope with a 1-0 win over Canada. They'll now have to wait and see whether that success over the Canucks will be enough to take them through to the next round. Their win was thanks to a wickedly swerving free-kick from Matthew Garbett.
The host nation defeated the tournament’s surprise package Angola 2-0 in Goiania. Talles Magno and Veron were on the scoresheet for the _Seleção_, who won all three group stage games, conceding just once.

In a topsy-turvy Group B game in Goiania, it was Ecuador who finally sealed victory and a place in the Round of 16. Johan Mina was the hero, as his fierce drive just four minutes from time gave the South Americans all three points.
Australia edged Nigeria 2-1 in the teams' final Group B encounter. Noah Botic continued his fine form in the tournament by netting a brace, scoring a goal in each half in what was an intense match.
Argentina turned around a half-time deficit to earn a crucial 3-1 win over Cameroon. A towering early header from Francois Bere had Cameroon in front until 13 minutes after the interval when a quickfire double gave Argentina the lead, before the South Americans added late insurance for a deserved victory.
Mexico and Italy traded chances all night, but it took a scorching individual run and strike from Degnand Gnonto in the 74th minute to break the match open. El Tri and Gli Azzurrini then traded stoppage-time goals, with Iyenoma Udogie netting a dramatic winner to clinch a Round of 16 berth for the Italians.
